Vision
European Young Engineers - Shaping Europe together
Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission (1999-2004)
| "I am sure that EYE will go on with as much enthusiasm and idealism as it has in the last decade and hope that it will contribute to the education of many more generations of engineers." |
EYE is a network of people. It is a platform for contacts between students, engineers, industry and society. The network gives support to students and engineers who want or need to work or study abroad. It opens borders and it opens minds.
The objectives of EYE are to:
- Improve mutual understanding between European engineers and engineering educational systems
- Create a trans-European network of professionals to develop personal and professional skills
- Foster mobility of young engineers in Europe
- Create a forum for the exchange of experiences on personal and professional level as well as for the organisation itself
- Implement the values of EYE
EYE is politically neutral and independent.
EYE 2010 - The future of EYE
Workshop in Leuven on 18th November 2005
EYE was founded in 1994 and has developed into a successful and internationally acknowledged organisation. Yet we think it is time to take stock and develop a common strategy for our future to make sure that we stay focused on the needs of member organisations and their young engineers.
At the EYE Leuven conference in November 2005, a special workshop entitled "EYE 2010" was held to discuss the following key areas for the future of EYE:
- EYE Size and Membership
- EYE Products
- EYE Orientation
- EYE Resources
The outcomes are being used to develop and implement an action plan by 2010.
