The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and EYE are working more and more together. In November this year EYE is asked to give a presentation about 'Engineering in Europe' during their Young Engineer Career Event in Orlando, Florida, USA. Roger McLaughlin, former Secreatry General (SG) and current SG Evert van Lieshout will represent EYE. Our member association GIOIN and ASME will organise a joint EYE-ASME conference next year in November in Italy. There is a lot of knowledge and experience to be shared during these two events.

The currently started normalization of Engineering Consultancy Services concerns especially the development of an international common framework of terms and vocabulary for creating a level playing field, where client and task assignee ‘understand’ each other well. Every country is forming a national normalization committee to stipulate the national importance and will introduce this in the European TC and working parties.
